ignore

Ignore data channels. (See also notice.)
XSPEC> ignore <range1> <range2> ... <rangeN>
where the Ith range is <rangeI> =:: <data set range>:<channel range> or <channel range>. If no <data set range> is given, then the previous range is used (the initial default range is file one (1) only). <data set range> =:: <init data set>-<last data set> or <single data set> where i nit data set>, <last data set>, and <single data set> are data set numbers, in the order that they were input with the d ata command. <channel range> =:: <initial channel>-<last channel> or <single channel> where <initial channel> and <last channel> are the ABSOLUTE channel numbers to be ignored within each data set indicated by the channel range. If only the last channel is indicated, then a default value of one (1) is used for the initial channel. Channels remain ignored until they are explicitly noticed with the notice command, or if a data set is replaced with another data set with a different number of PHA channels. When a channel is ignored, the counts and other arrays are compressed, freeing up array space. Thus, the energy range covered by the current response matrix may be reduced.
